About

My name is Lynne Gerard and I’ve made my living through painting, poetry and calligraphy since I was 24 years old - forty wonderful years!

I am presently taking a sabbatical.

I’ve closed my studio and gallery that I’ve had in the Gore Bay Harbour Centre for 18 years.

I’ll be using this year to harvest timbers from our land with my husband, Kevin, which we will use to build a studio down on our Ravenseyrie beach where I will be able to create my art in seclusion and pursue new means of exhibiting and selling it, rather than maintaining my own public gallery.

My main focus at this phase of my life is to be free to create and not be burdened with the elements of running a “brick and mortar” public business.  That was a fabulous time of my life, but I want to take my art to a different level and I need solitude and nature to carry out my new vision.

You can click on the upper right of this blog and select the “about” feature there to read my old bio.  I am however engaging in a rebranding, I will now refer to my studio as:  Atelier Ravenseyrie on the North Channel.  I also will be working up an updated artist curriculum vitae.

And!  I’m sure to be posting our progress on the big undertaking of building my studio ourselves with our own logs!

An unsettling - yet exciting time for me and I will enjoy sharing it with you.
