A New Year and a New Lockdown

My lakeside entry to the studio

Once again, our province of Onatrio is under a "state of emergency" lockdown because the second wave spread of the Covid-19 virus has gained so much momentum it is beginning to overwhelm our health care system.  Limited restrictive protocols put in place in the autumn and before the holidays were not earnestly followed by enough of our public to stem the spread, thus we have the new "stay at home" order issued.

"  Effective Thursday, January 14, 2021at 12:01 a.m., the government is issuing a stay-at-home order requiring everyone to remain at home with exceptions for permitted  purposes or activities, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for exercise or for work where the work cannot be done remotely. This order and other new and existing public health restrictions are aimed at limiting people's mobility and reducing the number of daily contacts with those outside an immediate household. In addition to limiting outings for these purposes, all businesses must ensure that any employee who can work from home, does work from home."

Therefore, the Ravenseyrie Art Gallery is closed until the government lifts these restrictions.  Some of the work is viewable online, and I can ship worldwide.  Email: ravenseyrie@xplornet.com if there is something you would like to purchase - or if you would like to visit the gallery virtually, via video.

Equus Ibericus Nobilis - a powerful talisman

I will continue to work in my studio, but cannot accept visitors or accommodate customers at this time.

Once I get in the groove, this lockdown provides a good opportunity to update the pages of this blog, many of which were never fully completed to begin with.  That will require a lot of photos to be taken of items in the gallery and inputting into the computer - things that I keep putting off because I would rather be writing or painting or sketching.

Of late, I have done some studies of the Highland cattle belonging to local rancher, Bill Fogal as well as some portrait studies, just for practice.

I have a wonderful environment from which to work and am able to step outside on the deck to breathe in the inland sea air just outside my door.  We've had a mild winter thus far and a bay that is usually imprisoned by ice in mid-January remains ice-free.

I am thankful that if one has to be put under lockdown restrictions my home and workplace are such inspiring places to weather the upheaval Covid-19 has caused.  I am surrounded by natural beauty and interior inspirations and don't mind the solitude one bit.

More artful talismans

Wishing all a Happy New Year, knowing it is up to each of us to make our own happiness as best we can - so may everyone take inspiration from the elements within your lives that are beautiful...look and you will see them!
